Covid-19 Trauma Help

What is Trauma?

Trauma is a deeply disturbing event that infringes your sense of control and may reduce your capacity to deal with the circumstances in real life. Some of us think that only people who have been exposed to war, extreme violence, natural disasters, physical or sexual abuse, terrorism, and catastrophic accidents are affected by trauma.  The truth is that you do not have to undergo an extremely catastrophic or distressing event for trauma to affect you.

Dealing with trauma

I just wanted to put something together for all of you who are under lockdown, or quarantine, struggling to make sense of things, and dealing with this collective trauma. We are also trying to flatten the curve of a pending mental health and wellness crisis that is going to follow in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The more you take care of yourself now, the easier it will be later on.
